Maria Coletta McLean is the author of the best selling memoir, My Father Came From Italy and the sequel Summers in Supino: Becoming Italian. She’s been featured in the National Post, the Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail and USA Today. In 2002, she was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for her contribution to the Canadian literary landscape.

Maria is a graduate of York University and University of Toronto: she lives in Toronto where she teaches English as a Second Language at Seneca College. She maintains a home in the village of Supino, where the patio is still under construction.

  1. Maria, My dad was born in Supino in 1894 and my family recently for the first time visited Supino. Then my son found your book Summers in Supino and presented it to me for my Birthday. I cannot tell you how you made me feel like I was back in Supino. I could not put the book down. You a a wonderful Author and would like to talk further with you regarding Supino. Keep writing you are so gifted.
